WHAT DOES IT TREAT?
Chronic muscle tightness or muscle spasms
Scar tissue from previous injuries or surgeries
Shoulder/Rotator Cuff injuries
Knee and Hip Adhesions/pain
Tennis elbow/golfer’s elbow
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The instruments effectively break down fascial and fibrous adhesions and scar tissue. The instruments cause microtrauma to the affected tissue resulting in a local inflammatory response. The microtrauma facilitates a cascade of healing activities resulting in remodeling of affected soft tissue structures. Adhesions within the soft tissue, which may have developed as a result of surgery, inactivity, repeated strain or other mechanisms are broken down allowing full functional restoration to occur.
WHAT CAN THE PATIENT EXPECT?
A thorough evaluation to assess soft tissue restrictions, as well as determine their level of reactivity to the instruments
Instruments applied during each visit until restrictions/scar tissue have been reduced to an acceptable level.
The possibility of some post treatment soreness. This is normal and should lesson by the third or fourth visit.
Possible mild bruising. This occurs from a controlled micro-injury that causes microvascular trauma and capillary hemorrhage that induces a localized inflammatory response.
Patients will asked to be responsible for maintaining a home exercise program that will include stretching and strengthening exercises
Alleviation of symptoms, pain and overall soft tissue tightness.
HOW OFTEN WOULD I NEED TO RECEIVE GRASTON TO ACHIEVE GREAT RESULTS?
The average case is 2 times a week for 3 weeks for a total of 6 treatments. If expected results are achieved the patient is released. If they are not achieved additional treatments might be necessary.
